Take a moment today and read Psalms 19-27 and then reflect on what you read. Write down your thoughts and share them with others.
You take a picture of a sunset, the mountains and post them with captions of awe and wonder. You may study the human body and learn what an intricate and complicated body we have. You may see a bird feeding its babies and wonder how did it know how to do that? Those are just some of the many wonders of God that are all around us every day. In Romans 1:19-20, Paul makes the statement of how can anyone deny the existence of God when the evidence is all around us. Paul was using inspiration and referencing Psalm 19.
Psalm 19 is a great Psalm to read to begin or end your day. It is a Psalm where the writer just sits back and enjoys and praises God for everything around us.
As we continue our reading we get to Psalm 22 and now David is crying out for help, " My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Ever been so low that you thought even God forgot about? I think we all have. David lays it all out, but despite these feelings of despair, He doesn't stop believing. He ends with a note of praise and declares his trust in God.
Psalm 23....probably the most famous Psalm. "No filter is needed" for this Psalm. Even if you didn't know it was a Psalm, you have probably heard it. Read this today as if it is the first time you've read it. Then read it again and just sit back and remind yourself to trust God and let Him lead.
Finally Psalm 27 ends our reading for today. We all have fears, trials and joys everyday. But also remember to call on the Lord every day. Check in with God just like we ask our children to check in with us. Keep the relationship alive and you will see, believe, and begin to always trust that God is there for you.
